9. Resources

With this module, FlowOpt offers the possibility to link resources to process activities and to plan and allocate them to the process as soon as it is put into operation. Resources can be all kinds of things such as machines, moulds, molds, tools, specialists, in short everything that is needed for the preparation or execution of the production process.

These resources can be included in the Process Map so that they can be automatically added to the job chain as soon as the order is scheduled. The resources can be allocated in their entirety or for a specific percentage.

Obviously, more of the same resources may be available. These are then given an identification (machine number, serial number/personnel number) and can be specifically assigned to a job based on this. A resource can be allocated for a specific step or for a number of subsequent steps.

A resource can also be given a limited number of times or time before it needs to be inspected or maintained. This is automatically tracked and reported once the limit is reached.

Rsources, what are they and what can you do with them

In FlowOpt you can attched and allocate Resources to production Jobs and allocate them when the order is executed.

In the slides below we explain what Resources are and what you can do with them.

How can you set up and maintain Resources?

Resources can be seen as products. They are recorded in FlowOpt via Groups and you can define the behavior of a resource. Resources can also include information such as customer, the time or number of times they can be used before inspection, and serial numbers if several of the same are available.

In the slides below we explain how Resources can be set up

How can you link Resources to a Process Map

Resources can be product or process dependent linked to a Process map. When creating the Job Tickets during the planning process, the resources are copied from the Process Map.

In the slides below we explain how you can link the Resources to a Process Map

How to assign or select a (specific) Resource for a Job

A Resource can already be assigned to a job in the scheduling process. In this function you can assign a specific resource (serial no. or personnel number) so that this specific resource will be allocated when executing the production process. Also a new Resource can be added if required.

In the slides below we explain how you can do that.

How are Resources allocated so that they cannot be reassigned to another job during the process.

When the Job is released from the Queue into production, the specific resource will be (fully or partly dependent of the %) allocated. This can of course only be done if the resource is available.

In the slides below we explain how this works and what can be done if the resource is not available

When will resources be released again

A resources will be released after the Job has been reported Finished. If the Resource has to stay with the product for the next job, it will not be released.

In the slides below we explain how the Resource will be released
